The English Sangha Trust Ltd. is recruiting for
an Accountant to be based at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery
The English Sangha Trust is seeking a qualified, or part qualified, experienced accountant to lead its finance function. The Trust is a Charitable Company which stewards donations for a monastic community of Theravada Buddhist monks and nuns. The monasteries in which they live receive thousands of visitors, guests and retreatants from around the world each year and are supported wholly by donations.
The job is based at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery, in the Chiltern Hills north of Hemel Hempstead. The accountant needs to work onsite most of the time, though cloud accounting offers some flexibility to work from home.
Experience of charity accounting and preparing group accounts would be an advantage but is not essential. This is a key post and a competitive salary will be paid. The monastic community at Amaravati is led by the Abbot, Ajahn Amaro, whilst a Board of lay trustees is responsible for financial oversight and strategy.
Further information about the Trust can be obtained from the
websites www.amaravati.org or the Trust’s
filings with Companies House and the Charities Commission. The Trust is charity no 231310, company no: 565499.
